8: Alicia Alexander,

Alicia "Monique" Alexander
Alicia “Monique” Alexander, 18, was found September 11, 1988, in an alley in the 1700 block of West 43rd Street & Western Avenue. Cause of death: shot once in the chest. Her nude body was covered with a mattress. Alicia’s father, Porter Alexander said he felt that ‘police initially seemed to drag their heels when it came to investigating [his daughter's death].’ He said he did not believe his daughter was a prostitute but that she did have a drug problem.

What caliber gun was used in Janecia Peters killing? It seems like he went dormant after the failed killing and when he resurfaced in early 2000 he didn’t have a gun, resorting to strangulation on a weaker and more vulnerable person (14 year old). By reading all the given facts it’s my guess he was recently released from prison (or in and out of prison) keep in mind the 13 year gap. He was not sentenced in L.A. county. He fled the L.A. area (he felt he failed and ‘Jackie’ would identify him) and was probably arrested in another jurisdiction/county for a violent crime (back then in the 80s, there was no DNA database). Upon his release, he had to have paroled to the only place he knew, HOME. Look for continuing parole violations involving drugs and the parolee eventually in and out of prison so much they finally said time served. This guy is a drug addict/ex-drug addict, he is involved in church and uses that clean cut persona to charm his victims, has trouble interacting sexually with women brought on by insecurities and rejection. He is the quite and smooth type. He obviously feels very confertable in the L.A. area, dumping these women within the dark alleys that he so often rode his bike through when he was a child. He isn’t as slick as everyone thinks and does not go on the prowl but acts more on instinct and urge after a drug induced frenzy. He doesn’t crave the attention but is rather annoyed that he’s on the radar. He will and has changed his MO a bit but he will always slip up due to is instinctive impulses (saliva on breast, semen. etc…). I really would like to know ALOT more about Thomas Steele’s murder. I believe that is the link!!!!!

A lot of these girls had substance abuse problems. Was/is GS a dealer? That would be an easy way to get them in his car. Also, the rust-colored Pinto is key. How hard could it be to go back through DMV records and search for a car matching that description in, say, a ten-mile radius of a neighborhood? He started killing when he was fairly young (forget the exact age, but listened to a detective interview, and that was mentioned). He’s supposedly in his mid-40s today. So, he may have been driving his parent’s car back then. If so, a thorough check of ALL rust-colored Pintos in that area should lead to the guy. I agree the caller with the tip sounded pretty relaxed. Though if he’s innocent, it’s not surprising that he would not want to get involved. It’s possible someone will recognize his voice. I would like to know how it is that he observed this, and managed to get a license plate number, etc. He must have been fairly close.

I guess I misread the first date. But 2 and 3 are more then likely tied together. Maybe he was that girls pimp and knew that she got in the car with the killer. He feared getting caught and followed the guy walked up behind him at a crosswalk of the intersection. I’m guessing there is a crosswalk and shot him in the back of the head.
Everything else seems to be on a 3 month scale to a 6 month scale.
What are all the other cases that they think are linked. Could it be he was killing on a 3 month time scale…
I would also suggest that the killers mom was a crack/coke whore. Just a guess but why would he be targeting women drug users. I think his mom was a drug addict and caught AIDS sharing needles. Then he is taking it out on all women drug users blaming them for her death?

#5 — a ten-mile radius of the neighborhood where the bodies were found would include a couple million people. South Central LA alone has half a million people.

“Monique” (as she was known to her friends) was a friend of mine.
I can still recall the day, when we found out she had died… murdered.
We were so young. it changes how you see things. This was a “real” situation that happened in my life, and the reality was my friend was dead.
The police may portray these women as many things…. but they were all women/human just the same. And no one (especially a 14 & 18 year old) deserve the treatment they received… and to throw their bodies in an alley like trash! Monique wasn’t a dope fiend or a prostitute…. to me she was a friend of mine. Someone who “breathed” nd who deserved to live.
We all go through things in life, but only God can judge us….

Also found this pic Mugshot photo of Alicia “Monique” Alexander, this photo was taken on July 7, 1988 She was found dead on September 11, 1988 Less then 3 months later. What years did Mr.Lonnie Franklin work at 77th division? Could he have met them there at the police station? Then killed them.

I am shocked because I had not followed the case yet I find out that I do know one of the victims. I know the family of Alicia Alexander. Went to school with her older sister and played ball with her brothers. I know her parents. My heart dropped when I looked at Mr . Alexander on the news yesterday and I’m still crying for many reasons about this. One thing is for sure, it’s not to late to pray for the families. And for Mr. Franklin………lucky LAPD did their job.
