The most important details

The most important details are the car’s lures:
The survivor said “An orange Ford Pinto with a white racing stripe on the hood.
The gear-shift handle was MEMORABLE, pimped out with a ping-pong-sized marble ball. The inside was all-white, with white diamond-patterned upholstery”
For more detail of the gear-shift handle : www.wholesale-glass-dealer.com/products/GearShiftKnob/GearShiftKnob.htm

    - There were not many Ford Pinto with WHITE interior color.

Do many of us know someone who had a car: a Ford + all white inside + gear-shift handle like marble ball? That would have been “ MEMORABLE” (She said). Someone must REMEMBER!

NathalieC: In the video interview of Margette that I saw on AMW, I believe she said the Pinto had racing stripes on the side (not hood). However, there could well be conflicting news reports about what she said. Margette's attempted murder happened in 1988, or 21 years ago. So GS is very very likely not driving that car today. Unfortunately, it is also not likely that the police will find witnesses from so long ago who remember that car.

pde: Lets give us hope !
    Margette said "MEMORABLE".
The firsty "white" interior car I've seen was in 1978: I remember it: it was a Golf sport + red outside.
Back color driver "good looking" + accent + white interior + gear-shift handle like marble ball + Ford Pinto = MEMORABLE

Just curious if anyone had seen that there was a serial killer working on dirt roads in NC. Apparently one of the few survivors was able to give details about the suspected killer (no proof yet this is the killer), but noticed a hand painted lettering on the truck. I thought it was odd at least that he was a thin black guy...and made a big leap that it was our Grim Sleeper (with the assumption that there are few thin, black, & active serial killers in the USA). See what you think...? http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2009/07/13/searching-for-a-serial-killer/

The following case bears some eery similarities to that of the "Grim Sleeper."

My2cents on "the most important details", and why the Grim Sleeper has not yet been caught are found in this article,
    http://www.laweekly.com/2009-03- /news/dna-deep-feeze/1

The USA needs faster DNA testing, we need cops to be accountable for getting all data on to the computers and networked so they can share data faster/easier. Waiting to test rape kits months before the statue of limitations runs out(or has already passed) is criminal! Imagine being raped by an unknown person, then working with police to go through gathering DNA rape kit test. Then finding out years later the police never did anything with that evidence. This rapist likely went on to do this again and again, while your test kit is in a freezer. While you wonder if this will happen again (to you, or to someone else) you find out a month before the statue of limitations runs out that they caught the guy years ago, or could have, or never even looked for a match. Why John F. Thomas was not caught until now falls into the same pile of disorganized system. Yes I am glad they are looking at it now...and starting to get DNA on all rapists, but WOW is this disturbing that they are so far behind. Hats off to Christine Pelisek for her work to bring these stories to light. This is a slap to the face of every street cop who gathers evidence or does their part, to find out nothing ever was followed up on. Why are they not asking about their own cases?? The community affected by this system with no accountability is the one raped. There are mistakes and then there are things that demand outrage for change.

Here is one thought toward the problem...If I was a cop I would be pissed and I would be asking how I could change the System!! One thought toward the "I know there are problems, but it's not my job" http://mail.google.com/mail/#search/godin/122cb3757edff187

How serious can we take the survivor??? TGS targeted prostitutes and drug users. How certain can we be that the survivor was'nt under the influence of anything? A pimped out Ford pinto would be memorable to almost anyone. What if it was a pimped out orange camaro or caddy or something. Low Riders were very popular back in the 80's. especially Caddy's and Lincoln Continentals. I'd think someone would have come forward with something by now. Does'nt make sense.

Thought this one was interesting also...

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/09/08/wisconsin.serial.killing.arrest/index.html

I wonder what the laws are for getting DNA from Everyone with a criminal history are...? How long it will take the cops to consider DNA as basic a need as getting fingerprints. If you go to jail for ANY reason #1 they should have your fingerprints put in the computer. #2 they should have your DNA on file and in the System. #3 Criminal should have to pay for all of the related costs (not just on a state by state rule, rather should be national level or no release/parole). Knowing your DNA is in the System should be a deterrent.

I live in the south central area.
bodies found in 56th,and 43rd streets.
I could walk to those places.

Anyway. for 13 years he stopped killing.
There is this thing that someone tipped about that says that when he stopped
Seinfeld aired, and when it went off air he began again.
    coincidence,could be,then agian,idk.

But why would he stop killing for 13 years?? doesn't anybody think he would have the urge,to kill?

And what margette said, that he stopped at someone house and talked to somebody, who could this person be? relative?
anyway its just about freaking time that they finally cath this guy.
